Our History

What started out as a few friends just wanting to do some good while having a little fun, soon grew into something much bigger than ourselves.  The seed for Rising Phoenix Charitable Foundation was born and we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation in 2007.

With each year, our events and charitable contributions have grown as well as our vision and goals. Our reach has now extended nationally and our impact has grown considerably.  We look forward to increasing our fundraising efforts, fellowship and donations.

Dayna L. Linton
Dayna L. LintonFounder & President
Dayna hails from the beautiful Salt Lake Valley surrounded by the majestic Wasatch Mountains. Dayna was raised by parents who taught their children to serve others and to live by “The Golden Rule.” One of her mother’s favorite quotes was, “Those who seek a reward on earth, will receive their reward on earth, but those who do good works quietly, with love in their hearts and joy in their souls, will receive their reward in heaven,” which continues to resonate with her.

Growing up in a musical family, Dayna found music and dancing to be her greatest passion and has passed that love of music on to her children.  She is a firm believer of lifting others through music, dance and the arts. One of her greatest joys comes from teaching mentally and physically challenged individuals to dance.

Dayna was blessed to have several positive influences in her life, many who didn’t even know she existed. Among those are, Mary Kay Ash, Gordon B. Hinckley, Mother Teresa, The Osmond Family, Oprah Winfrey, her Great-Grandpa Slade and many every day people who are far less known.

Over the years, Dayna has learned that together with “The Golden Rule,” the best way to live is to pay it forward.

Located near Atlanta, Georgia, Jenni Leigh Grizzle is the mother of three great kids, a registered nurse, and a USA Today Bestselling author under several pen names. She has a big heart for helping others and lives by the motto to remember every day to dream, believe, create, inspire, love, and heal.

Jenni has always had a soft heart for others, and considering the harshness of the world, she believes that is a good thing to have.  She continuously looks for ways to help and share with others, be it as simple as lending an ear to another’s problems and offering a quiet, encouraging word, or as she did in one town during life’s journey, instigated the opening of a shelter for homeless women.  She is excited to be a part of the Rising Phoenix Charitable Foundation and is greatly blessed to have the amazing women involved at her side.

“Her song carries the power to reach the heart.”

From 30 years of working directly with the public in a customer service capacity as well as bookkeeping and payroll skills, Katie’s strong work ethic serves the foundation well in her capacity as Treasurer.

Katie has been involved with her local community by lending her voice for the past 26 consecutive years in a popular musically entertaining show named The Fabulous Fifties Show. The show has successfully raised several hundred thousand dollars through the years to assist cancer patients.
Katie is eager and delighted to share in the vision of “encourage, envision, empower” for women who have had less fortunate lives. Katie believes the words of John F. Kennedy when he said, “To those whom much is given, much is expected” and hopes to ‘pay it forward’ to those in need.
